Profesor and Colleague Julio Gambina receives international award
The Latin American Society of Political Economy and Critical Thinking (SEPLA) expresses its joy for the "The Distinguished Achievement Award Award in Political Economy for The Twenty-First Century" granted to our colleague Julio Gambina in the 15th edition of the World Association Forum for Economy Politics (WAPE) held at Shanghai International Studies University, China. WAPE is a space for dialogue, discussion and construction of thought between Marxist economists from all over the world and aims to promote the theoretical apparatus of Marxism for the analysis of global capitalism and its neimperialist expressions, as well as for the elaboration of Anticapitalist policies and proposals of political organization. Since 2013, SEPLA and the Brazilian Society of Political Economy (SEP) are part of Wape, and our colleague Niemeyer Almeida Son is Vice President of Wape to Latin America. Between joint contributions, the Wape Forum in Florianópolis(Santa Catarina, Brazil) in 2014 was a landmark . Declaration on the recent events at Cuba
The Society for Political Economy and Critical Thought in Latin America - SEPLA, strongly rejects the campaign unleashed in the international media, as well as in social networks, promoted by the Cuban-American mafia residing in Miami together with reactionary sectors residing in Europe, calling for an uprising against the Cuban government and the revolution, while at the same time insisting on the call for a “humanitarian” intervention based on the increase in infections in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. In this regard, we recall that when former US President Eisenhower was consulted about the purposes pursued by the blockade illegally and unilaterally imposed by the terrorist State of the United States against Cuba, he without hesitation responded “the purpose is that the Cuban people , starving to rise up against the government ”.
