1st Forum “Social Security and Pensions: Regaining Initiative from the World of Work” on June 6

Call for Participation

The Society of Political Economy and Critical Thinking of Latin America (SEPLA) is pleased to invite all interested parties to participate in the 1st Forum “Social Security and Pensions: Regaining Initiative from the World of Work”. This event will take place on Tuesday, June 6, 2023.

The objective of this forum is to create a space for debate and reflection on the current challenges in the field of social security and pensions from a critical perspective. Relevant topics such as privatization of social security, profit in this area, and alternatives to strengthen and ensure a fair and equitable system will be addressed.

Distinguished experts will serve as speakers for this edition. We will have the participation of Antonio Elías from Uruguay, Luis Mesina from Chile, Orlando Villabona from Colombia, and Juan Miguel Fernández from Spain. Each of them will contribute their insights and experiences regarding the challenges and potential solutions in the realm of social security and pensions.

The moderation will be led by Josefina Morales, SEPLA representative in Mexico. Josefina will guide the development of the forum and facilitate the participation of the speakers and the attending audience.

The event will be broadcasted through SEPLA’s official channels, including the special participation of Rodrigo Borges from Brazil. We will also promote the forum through SEPLA’s social media platforms to reach a wider audience and encourage online participation and interaction.
